Golden Hour at Dan's Rock

These are the pictures I took (again on graduation day!) at Dan's Rock. I won't bore you with another lesson on geography. But I'll give you a quick one on the naming of "Dan's" Mountain. Dan's Mountain is named after Daniel Cresap - one of the early settlers of Allegany County (Maryland). "Dan" often hunted with a Delaware Indian named Nemacolin. While hunting bear - Daniel fell and ended up unconscious until Nemacolin found him. Nemacolin dragged Daniel home to safety. Interestingly - a town nearby Dan's Mountain is also named after him (Cresaptown). And... the yearbook at nearby Frostburg State University - where my daughter, wife, and I graduated from - is named "Nemacolin" after Daniel Cresap's friend! So there's just a bit more info about one of my favorite places! Thank you for taking time to view my page. I hope you enjoy these. I'm learning the Nikon D5500 and hope to get better with it soon.
