OBX North Carolina

I've been a while getting to this but these are from our family trip to North Carolina the first week of August! We (my immediate family - wife, daughter, & 2 sons) take this week every year to basically go and do nothing. We relax at the beach and that's pretty much it. We always stay in the northern section of the barrier island near Corolla. The Outer Banks of North Carolina is a very long island stretching from basically the Virginia-North Carolina border all the way to Hatteras. Ocracoke Island is also considered part of the OBX. While there is a lot of development on the island - it has been limited as far as commercial development. There are tons of homes; even hotels in certain areas. But no high rise construction and the beaches for the most part are not crowded. Weather is typically very nice, however, July - October is prime hurricane season on the Atlantic coast. Actually the fall season is a great time to visit as costs are about 30% of prime summer rates. Also the weather in the Autumn can be outstanding. Even though we do nothing but relax on our trip - there are plenty of things to do. Wild Horse tours, fishing, hiking, lighthouse climbs, shopping (if that's your thing), and other conveniences like restaurants/movie theaters etc. A large water park just opened this year on the mainland about 3 miles prior to the bridge crossing. As you see most of these pictures are simply sky and ocean because we really don't do out. The final one is the sunrise on the day we left. It was amazing. My wife and I head back in the late fall. During this fall's trip I have about 2-3 spots we plan to visit to hopefully (weather permitting) get some awesome pictures and video. I'm not going to say where just yet. But if it works out I hope to come away with some cool stuff. Of course I will share it here and on Instagram and YouTube . Thanks for checking these pictures out. I appreciate anyone that actually takes the time to read and view my pictures. For me there is nothing more relaxing than getting out and taking photos in nature. It's a hobby and I know my shots are far from professional. But nonetheless I enjoy it and hope you all do as well. Thanks!
